‘A Country Wedding at Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa’

Choosing your wedding venue is one of the most important factors in planning your wedding. It is the canvas to hang your styling on and the backdrop of all of your wedding memories, so it needs to be something that you will love for years to come and something that reflects who you and your partner are. And of course it needs to be in the right location!

If you’re planning an English country wedding then what better location than in the heart of the Lakeland countryside? Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa, situated on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake and a stone’s throw away from the quaint town of Keswick, is quintessentially British and truly traditional.

The Location

Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa has been standing magnificently in one form or another since the 11th century, so you won’t be short of character, charm or history with this place. With beautiful grounds to enjoy in any weather and a backdrop of Bassenthwaite Lake for Wedding photos, this venue really does offer something unique.

Ceremony rooms

The venue has an excellent choice of ceremony rooms to choose from. ‘The Lake Room’ offers spectacular views and accommodates up to 80 guests whereas ‘The Lime Trees Suite’, with floor to ceiling windows and extravagant chandeliers, offers a more contemporary feel. Or for a more intimate ceremony, there is ‘The Estate Office’ suitable for ceremonies of up to 20 guests.

Wedding Breakfast

Completing the package is Armathwaite Hall’s inimitable food options. The highly experienced chefs take full advantage of the wealth of local seasonal produce and Cumbrian specialities to create a variety of gastronomic delights.

A wide range of restaurant arrangements are available from a formal banquet style wedding breakfast or a slightly less formal dressed buffet. Midday wedding breakfasts can be offered for up to 80 persons in the Lake View Restaurant – a magnificent oak panelled room with stunning views of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Guest lists of up to 150 can be catered for in ‘The Broadwater Suite’ and these can be offered to weddings from midday through to late afternoon. In addition, ‘The Lime Trees Suite’, features a light and airy space with outdoor access to a large decked area overlooking the gardens.

Formal menus are varied, and as all courses are individually priced you can choose your favourites. Dressed buffets are meticulously prepared by the team of chefs with a wide selection of mouth watering dishes. Inventive drinks packages including a non-alcoholic option are also available to help assist with the many choices for your special day.
