Ox Pasture Hall Hotel – 4 star wedding venue, Scarborough
As we arrived at the long drive way to Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, it became apparent of the stunning potential this 4 star hotel had for a perfect wedding venue.
It’s easy to imagine the grand entrance that could be made, as you make your way down the long drive way with the rustic hotel building in front of you and the North York Moors stretching as far as the eye can see in every direction.
As we entered the main hotel building, what immediately grabbed our attention was the shelves of thank you cards to the team for the great the wedding services have they had hosted in the past, all recently dated.
The building felt very homely, with a quaint layout with more than enough style and charm to meet anyone’s needs.
We were greeted at the reception by a very helpful Lyndsey, who helped to make sure that everything was in place for our stay – confirming our timings for meal, where everything was within in the hotel and details for reception should we require anything further. The same lady escorted us to our room through the two beautiful court yards, pointing out the restaurant and bar on our way.
As we made our way through the picturesque court yards to our room, with the sounds of tinkling water from the beautiful water features my wife and I both commented on how intimate your wedding could be at Ox Pasture Hall.
Lyndsey enlightened us with her knowledge of all the different locations that you could have your wedding within the hotel grounds, with plenty of choice – your main difficulty could be picking which area of the hotel to choose.
It’s not hard to see that Ox Pasture Hall has the grounds for a large wedding, with plenty of room at the front and back to accommodate all your guests. If required you can also hire the whole venue to make sure all your guests have somewhere to stay.
If something more intimate is what you’re looking for, Ox Pasture Hall is a great option, with plenty of secluded areas to host your small wedding party in fantastic surroundings. The main courtyard would be a gorgeous place to say ‘I Do’.
We stayed in the King Suite, in a small stone building at the back of the hotel. The room was a good size, modern and stylish with a large king sized bed, a separate living room with TV, kettle, mirror etc. The room was very clean, with beautiful views out onto the North York Moors from both the bedroom and the living room – the room had plenty of amenities with more available on request. The large impressive bathroom had a beautiful bath, his & hers sink, and shower.
Following our check in and unpacking we made our way to the living room, where the staff were on hand to bring us our afternoon tea. Sitting in front of a roaring log fire, we were served scrumptious finger sandwiches, fantastic homemade fruit scones with jam and cream, and a great selection of different cakes to accompany our tea.
We walked around some of the 17 acres of land that surround the hotel, with numerous different backdrops that would be ideal for wedding photographs. It’s a beautiful area that’s very peaceful and serene, and perfect for getting those photographs to remember your big day.
The food served for our evening meal was delicious, with plenty of choice and presented very elegantly. My wife and I both commented on the quality of food we enjoyed, it more than lived up to the 4 star hotel rating.
Dovecote, a large converted barn function suite with easy access to the car park without the need to go through the hotel for any guests not staying. The function room has a large bar at one end, and panoramic windows at the other, looking out over the magnificent North York Moors.
There’s vast potential in this room for creating the ambiance of your wedding dreams, with plenty of space for tables (and dancing), high ceilings and a barn charm that your guests are sure to notice.
Ox Pasture Hall Hotel has many unique selling points for making it your Perfect North East Wedding venue, the scenery (see it to believe it), the different areas you can host your wedding, the beautiful food or the facilities they can offer.
