Venue Review – Worsley Park Marriott Hotel – 4 Star Wedding Venue
We recently visited the Worsley Park Marriott hotel in Greater Manchester, as we arrived and drove up the driveway, we were greeted by the luscious’ green of the Worsley Park championship golf course and pale pink Cherry Blossom trees.
After a brief tour of the venue from one of the lovely reception staff, who showed us the 3 bars/restaurants, the spa, pool, and golfing facilities we made our way up to our room via the private lift for ‘Elite members’.
Our room which was on the 4th floor and was everything you’d expect from a Marriott hotel room, it was a good sized modern room with all the required amenities. It was a lovely view from our Velux window, looking over the golf course as the sun was setting.
During our stay we took advantage of the onsite spa, and went for a massage treatment. The staff were friendly and the facilities were second to none with the staff going out of their way to make it a relaxing experience for us. We then used the leisure facilities (pool sauna, steam room) that the hotel had to offer to continue our day of relaxation. My husband especially enjoyed the walk along to the leisure facilities past all the signed football/rugby shirts of previous guests of the hotel.
On our first night we ate in ‘The Dining Rooms’ the food was very good quality, with a traditional selection available to choose from. The staff were very helpful and always on hand when needed. Following our meal we enjoyed a drink in ‘The Chimney Bar & Lounge’ outdoor court yard – we sat at a table under the patio heater, with the fountain trickling as background noise.
We got chatting to a couple who were attending a wedding in the hotel, and they couldn’t speak highly enough of the venue, the food and the staff. They were thoroughly enjoying everything that hotel has to offer, and discussed with us the beautiful photographs that had been taken within the hotel grounds. They noted ‘it’s one of the nicest wedding venues I’ve been too, everything has just been ever so perfect’.
On our second day we took heed of the recommendation from the couple attending the wedding and went to explore the picturesque scenery that surrounds the Worsley Park Marriott. We can only imagine how much work is put in by the grounds keeper to keep the place looking as fantastic as it does. With the different colours of flowers and the gorgeous greens complementing each other perfectly.
We then took a tour of the wedding facilities, and we were surprised at the size of the room we visited – the room was tastefully decorated – it was a very grand room, perfect for a very grand occasion. It’s not hard to imagine walking into that room as you’re announced for the first time as ‘Mr & Mrs x’ seeing all your guests smiling faces and feeling jubilant that your big day is at the Worsley Park, Marriott. If you’re looking for something a little smaller, the room can be condensed to make sure your wedding isn’t lost in a large room.
On our second night we ate in ‘The Tempo at Worsley Park’ bar – a more traditional country club bar serving good quality food and drink. Outside of Tempo was a lovely seating area, again with a beautiful view of the grounds of the Worsley Park, Marriott.
Although part of a chain of hotels, you get the sense that all the staff at the Worsley Park see this as their own hotel, they go out the way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. They were always on hand when needed, and nothing was too much trouble.
The Worsley Park Marriott offers brides and grooms the opportunity to have a wedding in idyllic location, whatever the size of your wedding they’d be able to offer you an unforgettable experience, a day you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
